Killstreaks

Killstreaks are not usually something I get excited about but Black Ops does bring some pretty sweet ones to the table including the RC-XD we have all been hearing/seeing so much about. I of course being the crappy in-game driver that I am found myself crashing into many walls and/or other RC-XDs.

3- Spy Plane

3- RC-XD

4- Counter-Spy Plane

4- SAM Turret

5- Care Package

5- Napalm Strike

6- Sentry Gun

6- Mortar Team

7- Attack Helicopter

7- Valkyrie Rockets

8- Blackbird

8- Rolling Thunder

9- Chopper Gunner

11- Attack Dogs

11- Gunship

The customizable killstreaks are back from MW2 but they do cap off at 11. Each killstreak can be purchased with COD points and some you must be a certain rank to buy them.

CoD WAW fans will notice that the doggies have returned!

I was pretty excited about this until I had about 3 of them attacking me all at once. I put up a good fight with my WAW dog knifing skills but down I went.

I do sense that my frustration with killstreaks will continue but maybe a little less so than with MW2. On the plus side the game ships with a REAL(no killstreaks, attactments, perks)  barebones playlist so that will certainly keep me satisfied.

Which killstreaks are you pumped to use?

So let’s talk about Wager Matches

I have decided that these matches will be my favorite part of Black Ops. Not only are they a great new addition to the same old game modes but they are freakin fun as hell. Here’s the low down if you have no idea what I’m talking about…

So the different wager matches are as follows…

One in the Chamber
Sticks and Stones
Gun Game
Sharpshooter

I know that not everyone is into free-for-all matches but these are not your average FFA games. These matches are designed to keep the tension and the spirit of competition high.

In these game modes you’re COD points (the new in game currency that allows you to buy weapons, attachments, camos, etc.)  will be placed on the line. Come out on top and you could be buying a sweet new camo or gun. Get anything besides 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place you get nothing and loose some of your COD points.

So come November, you may develop a little gambling problem because these matches are addicting.

And so I return

From the best trip I have ever been on with a wealth of information an stories to tell you. Starting with the basics. Call of Duty Black Ops is a freakin amazing game (specifics to come in following posts). There is just no other way to put it.

My main concern of it having a MW2 look and feel went right out the window as soon as I played my first match. Treyarch has brought new ideas and ditched some major fails from MW2 to give players just an all out amazing MP.

So stay tuned the rest of today/tomorrow for info and my opinions on what the Call of Duty Black Ops MP has to offer.

I haz the key

The big day is almost here and I am beyond excited. To get us in the mood here are our room keys at the hotel. While this is only a fraction of the awesomeness to come, it’s still pretty freakin sweet.

September 1st Approaches

As everyone should know by now September 1st will be a full reveal for the Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer. It’s going to be a red carpet event of EPIC proportions. The guessing games and speculation can finally be put to rest.

On an equally exciting note, I will be attending said red carpet event in LA. Myself and other select COD community VIPs along with assorted celebrities will be in attendance of this amazing COD awesomeness. So be sure to follow me on Twitter and keep an eye on the site as I will attempt to soak up anything and everything I see and squeeze it out onto the internetz.

Black Ops info from Gamescom

Treyarch’s Community Manager Josh Olin and Military Adviser Hank Keirsey answer a few questions about the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops. Try not to get too distracted by the interviewers hair.

Note: Yes it’s pretty laggy but that’s how it ran even live. So get past the lag and the hair and listen to the info.

Zombies Confirmed!!

It’s time to put the rumors to bed my friends. Treyarch’s Josh Olin tweets a confermation that Zombies will return in Call of Duty Black Ops.

So if you are on the fence about upgrading your pre-order to the hardened or prestige edition I’d say this detail should push you towards doing it.

Zombies was an incredible addition to WaW and is a big reason why many gamers still hang on to the game rather than giving it the old trade in. It’s a fun and amusing game type that (with the right group) can be awesome.

My guess is that the callback WaW co-op maps are just the tip of the iceberg for what Black Ops has in store for co-op. I look forward to more exciting add-ons post release.

First Thoughts: Black Ops MP Trailer

While it does look epic I do have some concerns, but first check it out for yourself.

Now before I start I just want to say that I am aware that you cannot judge a game by it’s teaser trailer. I also want to make sure everyone knows that I am not a MW2 hater. I just have a love/hate relationship with it and would take WaW over it any day of the week. I like it but think it was overhyped and didn’t deliver. But I still enjoy playing it occasionally with a few good friends.

Now on to business. My first concern is that it has a MW2 look to it. Which could be good a good and a bad thing. The reason this concerns me is because of the bad experiences I have had with MW2. That is most likely why I have a biased view against MW2 in general.

On a similar thought, if Black Ops plans to release a beta it could avoid most of the major issues that have caused my love/hate relationship towards MW2. Notice how i say most, not all. There are always bound to be glitches and idiots who exploit them. But a beta can help tremendously in that area. As I have stated in past rantings, big releases such as any Halo or COD title should have a beta. There are just so many people playing that the potential for issues will be found and exploited right away.

Next thing that bothered me was the killstreaks. I was really crossing my fingers for fixed 3, 5, and 7 killstreaks. Wishful thinking methinks. But that doesn’t totally ruin things as long as a barebones playlist is an option. That will keep me happy.

This of course is only the first MP trailer, and while it didn’t “wow” me they way I wanted, it still got me excited for November. I still have faith that Treyarch will deliver with this game.

I really want to hear other’s opinions on this one. First thoughts?

COD Black Ops Cover Art Revealed

Look familiar? If you pre-ordered Black Ops at GameStop it should. It’s the free poster they gave away when you put your five bucks down.

Personally I love this image and when I saw the poster I hoped it would be the cover art. Come November that poster hanging on the door of my room will be another epic COD game.

A WaW Weekend

Somehow I never get tired of playing this game. While I do still enjoy MW2 every now and again, I can only stand it for so long. I get frustrated with the people playing and the 439048290 messages offering 10th prestige lobbies. Not that WaW doesn’t have both I just find that there is less of it.

From Search and Destroy to (REAL) Capture the Flag to Zombies, that’s how my gaming time was spent this weekend. It makes me smile that there are still thousands of people playing this game even after the release of MW2. With Black Ops coming out the end of this year I predict more people dusting off their WaW and remembering what an awesome job Treyarch did with Their COD title.

So how did the rest of you peeps spend your game time this weekend?
